Chi si unisce? Serata semplice e molto conviviale.

Dear All.

This is a final reminder that there are a few tickets still available for the Ceilidh at All Saints Church on Saturday, 5 April 2014 which marks the end of our latest course in Scottish Country Dancing.

Here is a bit more information about the evening:

For starters, we now have two fantastic raffle prizes:
(i) a free weekend in Edinburgh: this consists of flights for two people from Malpensa to Edinburgh (and back!) courtesy of Kuma Travel (thanks to Sara Murphy) and two nights in a luxury flat overlooking Edinburgh Castle (well, underlooking Edinburgh Castle, to be absolutely precise, see attachment) courtesy of Scotland for the Bon Viveur (thanks to Kitty Bruce-Gardyne). Note that both elements are subject to limitations which will be explained to the lucky winner.
(ii) A bottle of 14-year old Laphroaig single malt whisky courtesy of WhiskyClub Italia (thanks to Claudio Riva of I Love Laphroaig)

Considering that raffle tickets will be sold only to participants and that there will be a maximum of 80 people at the Ceilidh, whoever is there will have a very good chance of winning. So remember to bring some money for raffle tickets on top of the entrance money. They will cost €5 each and €10 for three.

The evening will start at 18.30 so plan to arrive promptly to avoid missing out on the proceedings, especially if you are new to Scottish Country Dancing. We will start with a quick run-through of the basic steps, holds and formations. With that under our belts, we will walk through and then dance some of the simpler, more popular dances, taking us through to around 20.00, at which point we will dig into our delicious buffet supper.

After an hour or so, dancing will resume and we will alternate ceilidh dances that everyone can do with some of the more complicated Scottish country dances that the course participants will demonstrate (fingers crossed!). There will be an interval at 22.15 during which the raffle will be drawn.

Auld Lang Syne will be sung at 11.30 and we’ll all go home happy and content. Hopefully a kilo or two lighter! After all, the motto of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society is “Fun, Fitness and Friendship”. That’s what we’d like to offer you. Don’t miss out. Sign up now.

All the best,

John
